About Me

My name is Shawn Schulte.  I’m a 39 year old lifestyle cyclist, winsome visual artist, and commited martial artist.  I spent 17 years as a commercial fisherman in Alaska and have spent the bulk of my off season working at Staufs Coffee Roasters in Grandview, OH, where I am honored to follow my passion for tea, through deepening our wholesale’s role in our community.  Since my mother’s passing in 2006 it has been my passion to try and bring hope to those who are suffering and my efforts while steadfast to finding and end to ALS do not end there.  This site is an attempt to give life to a project that I hope will unite Ohio in an effort of compassion, to celebrate the lives and the stories of families and individuals who have battled against this disease, and to prove the such action is the birthplace of healing.  I welcome every voice and every effort in this fight.

This is a much better vehicle for your efforts, Shawn. I’ll be reading often.

Good luck,

Now that I found the place I have it bookmarked. I like what you have written so far. It is a great tribute to Sandy and I am sure she is looking down with a smile on her face.

I admire you. Your Mom is shining down on you, and with me being a mom, I know she is so very, very proud of you.
I’ve lost a good friend to ALS.

Shawn – I ran into your blog through my fb friend, Danny Hopper. My husband was diagnosed in February of 2011 and is still fighting strong. We’re very involved in the Oregon ALS Association and so grateful for voices like yours that help others understand this disease and then move them beyond pity and into action. Keep up the great work! – Bo Stern for Team Stern

I do consider all the ideas you have offered to your
post. They’re very convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are too short for beginners. May you please prolong them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.

Thank you for your feedback and for you willingness to share your outlook. I have to admit I chuckle a bit considering I often feel that I am being ‘long winded’ in many respects and considering I also maintain a more active facebook page in support of this page, under the name Iron Horse Challenge, I have been more concerned over the last year in my long absence from posting on here and I am looking to correct that soon. I appreciate your comments and welcome you to the page and to also help me further by indicating what more you would like to see expanded upon. I would also like to know you own views and relationship with ALS, as this site was intended to be a voice for more than simply my own outlook.
Best Wishes and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
